Base Zack Left Bob 1 Freeze

Vs. Odd

Coaching Points:

LT: Playside to head up to away on.  Do not block end man on line of scrimmage (EMOLOS) or #2.  Your block is key to this play.

LG: Head up to away to playside on. Look to double with C. Get out of traffic!

C: Head up to away to playside on. Away off. Look to double with LG.  Get out of traffic!

RG: Inside to head-up to away, on. Inside to head-up to away off.  Hard playside.

RT: Inside to head-up to away, on. Inside to head-up off.  Hard playside.

Abe: Freeze step; open to left. Dive read (DR) is first man off, head up to playside of C.  Ride Bob; if dive read does anything but fill give. If dive read fills on dive, pull the ball back and immediately go to pitch read. Pitch read (PR) is EMOLOS. Attack PR's inside hip, DO NOT CROSS HIS FACE If PR turns hips to you, pitch to Chad.  If PR widens with the play and doesn’t commit or turns his hips to Chad, look to turn up inside of him and keep.

Bob: Attack 1 Gap hard, make a pocket and roll over the ball on the handoff.  Do not take ball, accept it. If DR fills you’ll crash him. If DR doesn’t fill you’ll have the ball and have to beat the DR. Read his hips, keep your pad level low and get through the hole.

Chad: Freeze step, work to 4x4 off the A for pitch position. If A pitches, receive pitch and work off Zack’s block on #2.

X: Outside release, 9 pattern. Work hard to get upfield; if coverage doesn’t go with you we’ll come back to the play-action pass.

Y: Inside release, work up to #2away pass support defender.  Block him anyway he wants to go, but be aggressive.  If he gets too aggressive at filling on run we’ll come back to sending you on a play-action pass.

Zack: Quick motion left. Wide release, check LT's block and help if he needs it.  Work upfield to #2. Block #2 any way he wants to go.  If Chad receives pitch he’ll work off your block.  If #2 fills aggressively we’ll work play-action off him to slow him down.

Coaches:

ü      Watch #2A vs. Y. If #2A sheds aggressively can we play-action and go over the top of him with a post or seam route to Y?

ü      Watch #1 vs. X. If #1 is lazy on his coverage can we play-action and go over the top to X? Does safety help out over the top or pursue run?

ü      Watch #2 vs. Zack. Does he fill and shed aggressively? Can we run Zack over the top on play-action?

ü      Do they make any special adjustments to it?
